Commissioner on the frontline

A Wongawallan man was punched and kicked after disturbing two would-be home invaders on his property on Monday evening.

The 66-year-old returned to his Tamborine Oxenford Rd home about 6pm on Easter Monday when he saw a green ute in his driveway and a man and a woman on his property.

The man blocked the ute in with his own car.

The homeowner and the unknown man got into a fight where the homeowner was punched and kicked.

A police spokeswoman said the woman got into the homeowner’s Toyota Kluger and drove it down the driveway so the green ute could leave.

The couple departed, leaving the homeowner’s Kluger behind.

The homeowner was left with minor injuries.

Investigations are continuing.
