A wild road rage incident has brought traffic to a standstill on a busy Gold Coast road.
Footage posted to social media on Saturday showed a man in a silver Volkswagen 4X4 being punched through his car window by the driver of a white Holden Commodore at Currumburra Rd in Ashmore.
The driver of the Commodore could be heard screaming “come on” to the man in the Volkswagen, urging him to get out while he punched him a second time.
The driver of the Volkswagen – who was holding up traffic at a green light – then made an illegal U-turn around the Commodore before driving over a median strip to then pull up in front of its bonnet.
Footage showed the man in the Commodore then getting into his car, driving around the 4X4 and taking off, with the VW speeding after him.
The footage has received approximately one million views on Facebook.
A spokesperson for Queensland Police Service said police were aware of the video, but no formal complaint had been made.
