PLANS for a giant $300m hotel at one of the Gold Coast’s biggest theme parks will open for public comment on Tuesday.

The 22-storey, 600-room accommodation complex is earmarked for a 5.1ha site on the northern side of Warner Bros Movie World on Entertainment Drive.

Significantly bigger than the nine-storey hotel which was already approved for the site by council, the new tower will feature a “panoramic sky deck”, infinity pool, bar and restaurants on its 21st level, along with a three-hall function centre.

The company, headed by Clark Kirby, says the project will create 799 new construction jobs during its two-year construction, with a further 400 full-time jobs during its first five years of opening.

The company expects it will inject $840m into the economy and host more than 876,000 people during this time.

Consultation will run until March 13.
