Titans versus Brisbane pre-match band Busby Marou keen to rev up Cbus crowd

An award-winning duo are ready to wow 27,000 NRL fans expected on Saturday for the Gold Coast Titans versus Brisbane Broncos blockbuster - just don’t ask who they are backing.

Aria-nominated duo Busby Marou have been scheduled as the pre-game entertainment at Cbus Super Stadium, warming up the crowd, expected to come close to filling the venue.

Busby Marou member Tom Busby said they while this wasn’t their first NRL stadium appearance they were amped to “watch the two Queensland teams knock into each other”.

He admits he’s a Broncos backer but adds: “I will say, I have a soft spot for the Titans because I live on the Gold Coast.”

Busby Marou will play a pre-match concert before the Gold Coast Titans vs Brisbane Broncos match.

Busby reminisced on their previous football game gigs performing to 50,000 people at Suncorp Stadium, Test matches and touring with Elton John to more than 30,000.

“Something about the energy and the atmosphere is awesome because you’re in the middle of the field and everyone is surrounding you.

“Saturday’s gig is perfect for me because it’s in my back yard in front of all those people at the best game of the weekend, if not the year.”

Busby said they would be squeezing in some newly released singles from their upcoming album Blood Red into a 15-minute set starting at 7:15pm.

Busby Marou’s Tom Busby admits he’s a Broncos fan but “I have a soft spot for the Titans because I live on the Gold Coast”.

On Saturday, Busby Marou will announce locations for their up coming Tiny Towns Tour where they will be visiting places such as Biloela, Walloon or Charleville.

“The smaller towns are the best gigs because they struggle to get to the cityies or the regional areas so they are grateful when you make the effort.”

WHAT & WHEN: The Macca’s Local Derby match between Gold Coast Titans and Brisbane Broncos will kick off from 7:35pm on Saturday at Cbus Super Stadium in Robina

TRANSPORT: All ticket holders will have access to free public transport on Queensland Rail Trains, G:Link and TransLink bus services.

TICKETS: Grandstand tickets available are adult tickets at $33, $27 for a concession and $21 for a junior.

PRE-MATCH GIG: Busby Marou play a 15-minute seat at 7.15pm before the game starts.
