A couple of teenagers riding their bikes past a major Gold Coast shopping centre have been targeted by a group of men in a shocking daylight robbery.
According a Queensland Police Service (QPS) spokesman, the teenage boys were on their bikes and heading along Oxley Drive near the busy Brisbane Rd intersection about 6.15pm on Wednesday when they were attacked.
A group of four males approached the boys and made threats before an altercation broke out.
The QPS spokesman said the offenders took “a number” of the teens belongings before running off.
It’s unclear whether the pair sustained any injuries as a result of the attack – which occurred just across the road from Harbour Town shopping centre
The incident is under investigation, anyone who may have witnessed the robbery or who may have dashcam footage are urged to contact police.
