Police are investigating the stabbing of a man at a Tugun hotel.

They said police attended a hotel on Golden Four Dr about 6.55pm Thursday after a report of a 47-year-old man sustaining a knife wound to his leg.

It was alleged a verbal altercation and confrontation occurred with a group of people, at which time the man was stabbed.

The alleged offender fled the scene in a vehicle.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment and police investigations are ongoing.

It appears Gold Coast officers were not directly involved in the Minnie St raid.

A Crime Command spokeswoman confirmed the execution of a search warrant.

She said she was not able to provide further details, including what officers hope to find in the home, because of an ongoing investigation.

It’s believed the raid is not part of a larger operation.

Previous police raids on the Coast have often been linked to drug and weapon allegations, but the motivation behind Wednesday’s raid remains unknown.
