Two men bashed a musician outside a Gold Coast bar after he declined to play a song they requested, police say.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the bizarre assault and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
The 35-year-old victim left a Nobby Beach bar on the Gold Coast Highway about 10.45pm on February 13.
Police said the alleged offenders had been inside the venue where they asked the musician to play “Wonderwall” by Oasis, which he declined.
After exiting the bar, the musician was approached by two men who attacked him after allegedly yelling that he should have played the song they requested earlier.
He was headbutted by one man and punched in the face by the other, causing bruising and swelling to his left eye.
Investigations continue.

Man suffers multiple fractures after party strip assault - April 3
DETECTIVES are hunting two partygoers over a violent assault outside a Gold Coast nightclub that left a man with multiple facial fractures.
Police say the victim and two men were involved in an “altercation” inside Arcade Nightclub, Surfers Paradise, when it spilt outside just before 3am.
The victim was struck in the melee and hit his head. The suspects fled before police responded and remain on the run.
Police say the man suffered a fractured eye socket, a cheek bone and jaw, but was taken to hospital in a stable condition. Detectives are investigating and will review CCTV from the safe night precinct.
Authorities said it was a busy weekend in the party precinct.
Learner accused of burnout, speeding

A LEARNER driver accused of performing a burnout in Ipswich was allegedly spotted driving at speeds of about 180km/h while driving back to the Glitter Strip.
The 18-year-old has since had his car seized after authorities followed him back to the Gold Coast. Polair tracked the vehicle from Ipswich, where the burnout was performed, to Ormeau, police say.
Police claim it was travelling at speeds of 180km/h on the Logan Motorway.
When police caught up with the teen, they charged him with multiple traffic offences, including failing to display L plates, and the vehicle was towed by police.
Thieves steal car, return it to same parking spot hours later – March 29
A Surfers Paradise woman has been left stunned after discovering thieves stole her car, then returned it to the same parking spot just hours later.
Police said a man and woman entered an unlocked 2007 Toyota Camry in the underground car park at the Equinox Sun Resort in Surfers Paradise about 11.30pm Sunday.
The car belonged to a 42-year-old female resident.
The pair then used car-keys and a garage buzzer which had been left inside to start the car and exit the car park.
Police said the pair returned the vehicle at 3am on March 28, parking the vehicle in the same parking bay.
A black 2021 Dragon X1 power scooter was stolen from the boot.
The car owner, who asked not to be named, told the Bulletin she initially had no idea the car had been stolen and returned.
She only realised that was the case after she noticed the scooter was missing and security footage was checked.
“It’s devastating – that’s next level,” the resident said.
“I just don’t know how people can do that and take other people’s things.”
Police are continuing to investigate.

High-range drink driver pinballed off parked cars: Police – March 28
A Gold Coast woman will front court next month charged with high-range drink driving after she was allegedly caught behind the wheel while more than seven times over the legal limit.
It was about 7pm on March 23 when police attended a Hope Island shopping centre where a the 36-year-old woman was found inside a parked Nissan X-trail.
Police allege the Coomera woman earlier struck two parked vehicles while operating the vehicle, according to reports from witnesses.
She underwent an official breath test at the scene which returned a reading of 0.379 per cent blood alcohol limit.
An immediate suspension of licence was issued.
The woman was charged with a high-range drink driving and is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on April 4.
Teens wielding blades on CCTV in brazen break-in: Police
March 23: Police have charged five teenagers after bladed weapons were allegedly used during an break-in at a quiet Mudgeeraba cul-de-sac.
Security camera footage posted on Facebook appears to show two young people armed with blades entering a home on Swagman Ct about 3am on March 16.
Queensland Police stated a white Mercedes CLA45 AMG was stolen from the address while residents were asleep.
After tracking the car, police found it hours later in an underground car park at a Benowa shopping centre, it’s alleged.
Police stated offenders were seen fleeing the vehicle – with two females arrested inside the car, two male offenders arrested shortly after fleeing the vehicle, and another one located later.
Police have charged a 14-year-old girl, 19-year-old woman, two 14-year-old boys and a 16-year-old boy with various offences including burglary, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and enter premise with intent.
The juveniles will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.
The 19-year-old woman was due to face Southport Magistrates Court on March 29 in relation to the unlawful use of a motor vehicle charge.
E-scooter rider violently attacks woman
March 22: Police are hunting a man who assaulted a Gold Coast women while trying to rob her on his e-scooter.
The 39-year-old women was walking along Helensvale’s Town Centre Drive when she was attacked by a man riding a grey scooter at 7.20am Tuesday morning.
The women attempted to hold on to her handbag as the man dragged her to the ground and ‘repeatedly kicked and stomped on her head’.
The driver of a passing car intervened and scared the man away.
He fled the scene on his e-scooter.
Police released shocking footage of the attack late on Tuesday afternoon.
The woman was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital with cuts, bruises and swelling to her head, face and arms.
Investigations were ongoing.
Man charged with boozy smash into parked cars, fleeing area
March 15: A Burleigh Heads man has been charged after allegedly ploughing a ute into parked cars while behind the wheel at more than three times the legal alcohol limit.
Police have been probing a second single-car crash.
Gold Coast police were called to SeaWorld Dr at Main Beach after the Holden Crewman ute crashed into two parked cars about 9.15pm on Tuesday, a spokeswoman said.
The man allegedly “fled the vehicle” at The Spit, but the Queensland Police Dog Squad tracked the driver to a bus stop outside a nearby hotel.
He underwent a roadside breath test and returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.175, according to police.
The man has been charged with one count each of did drive UIL, drive without due care and attention, possession of a dangerous drug and failing to comply with duties of driver involved in a crash.
He was expected to face Southport Magistrates Court on March 29.
Meanwhile, police have been investigating the second crash, which occurred on Marine Quays Boulevard at Hope Island about 5am on Wednesday.
A female driver and passenger, of an undisclosed age, were treated by Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics, but declined to be taken to hospital.
The wreckage from the crash was cleared from the road by about 6am.

Man removed GPS tracker before botched carjacking: Police
March 15: Gold Coast police have charged a Brisbane man after he allegedly removed a GPS tracking device and tried to steal a woman’s car at knifepoint.
The man deliberately stripped off the device at Milton and fled south to the Coast about 3pm on Monday, according to a police statement.
“About 6.45pm a woman was sitting in her car in a carpark on Marine Parade at Southport. The man has got into the passenger seat and is alleged to have threatened her with a knife and demanded the car,” it read.
“The woman has screamed to attract the attention of passers-by and the man fled the scene on foot.”
Police stated the woman, 67, who is not known to the man suffered minor injuries.
The Wacol man, 35, was subsequently arrested by police on Cypress Ave at Surfers Paradise shortly after midnight.
The man has been charged with one count each of unlawful entry of vehicle, attempted armed robbery, serious assault person over 60 and two counts of contravene relevant order (curfew and remove GPS device).
He was expected to face Southport Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
