Police charge 31-year-old Runaway Bay man with driving under the influence after crash in Labrador

A man has been charged after allegedly crashing into multiple cars on what was a busy night for emergency services on the Gold Coast.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) and police were called to the incident on Liam Court in Labrador at around 1.30am on Wednesday morning.

A Gold Coast police spokesman said it will be alleged a 31-year-old man crashed into two parked cars.

Paramedics assessed the Runaway Bay man who didn’t have any major injuries and did not need to be taken to hospital.

He was charged with driving under the influence and possessing dangerous drugs.

He is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on July 16.

Four hours earlier, at 11pm, emergency services were called to a rollover at the intersection of Ashmore Rd and Freda Str in Ashmore.

An ambulance spokeswoman said they assessed two stable patients including a man in his 20s.

Neither needed to be taken to hospital.

Police are now investigating the cause of the crash.

At around 7.30pm, police and paramedics were called to a car crash on Saffron St in Elanora.

A police spokesman said reports showed the man in his 20s was driving at high speeds before crashing into a fence and a tree.

An ambulance spokeswoman said paramedics assessed the man who had no injuries and did not need to be taken to hospital.

Police are continuing to investigate.
