Lawyer Nicholas Radich sues Alexander Dariush-Far for $200,000 defamation for ‘crook’ comments

A former real estate agent has been sued for a Google review which allegedly implied a Gold Coast lawyer was a “crook” who made criminals “look like angels”.

A GOOGLE review which allegedly implied a Gold Coast lawyer was a “crook” who made criminals “look like angels” has landed a former real estate agent in court.

The review allegedly lost the solicitor clients.

Mermaid Waters lawyer Nicholas Radich is suing former real estate agent Alexander Dariush-Far for more than $200,000 in the Southport District Court for the review left on the popular search engine’s website.

Mr Radich, who has been a solicitor for decades, lodged the claim earlier this month after Mr Dariush-Far allegedly left the review.

According to court documents in September last year, Mr Radich appeared in court for a client who had taken legal action against Mr Dariush-Far’s wife Yulia Khromeenkova.

During a discussion between Mr Radich and Mr Dariush-Far an argument broke out.

Mr Radich said in his court documents it was then that Mr Dariush-Far posted a review to Google.

The court documents state the review read: “Critical: Professionalism Watch every step this guy is so crook he puts the criminal (sic) locked up in jail to look like angels.”

Mr Radich claimed in his court documents that the review implied he was a criminal that should be imprisoned, that he was dishonest, untrustworthy, unprofessional and crooked.

He said the review had “greatly injured his reputation” and that he had suffered “serious harm to his reputation” and “great distress”.

Mr Radich also claimed in court documents that he had lost clients and business because of the review.

Mr Radich declined to comment to the Bulletin about the claim.

Mr Dariush-Far is a former real estate agent who worked from Sovereign Realty in Runaway Bay.

He is yet to lodge a response to Mr Radich’s claims.

It is not the first time a Google review has hit the courts in Southport.

Gold Coast criminal lawyer Chris Nyst last year took a former client and Google to court over a one-star review left about his firm.

Mr Nyst discontinued the court case in a secret settlement earlier this year.
