A man who allegedly prompted a siege and major police operation on a suburban Gold Coast street has been identified.
Keiran Patrick John Gray, 33, had his case mentioned for the first time in Southport Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
He faces several charges including obstructing police, possessing or acquiring restricted items, and stealing.
The Forest Lake man was wanted on a return-to-prison warrant, with police beginning their search for him about a day and a half earlier.
Police initially believed Gray was armed with a .22 calibre pistol, and shut down the street until he was taken into custody at about 4.30pm.
No weapon has been found at this stage.
Police say Gray did not live at the Benowa home, and it is not yet clear whether he was known to the residents.
He was taken from the scene in an ambulance and transported to Gold Coast University Hospital as a precaution.
Gray was not required to appear in person when his matter was briefly mentioned in court.
Duty lawyer Dave Carlin did not make an application for his client’s bail, and said it was unlikely one would be made when the case returned to court next month.
Gray’s matter will next be mentioned on May 10.
