Rescuers have winched out four climbers forced to spend the night on the side of a cliff after rescuers were unable to reach them at Tamborine Mountain overnight.

A Queensland Ambulance Spokeswoman said a woman in her early 50s had a minor head injury after the group were climbing on a private property near Guanaba Gorge at 5.30pm Saturday.

The woman, a man in his late 40s and another woman and man were winched from the cliff in what emergency services described as “a complicated rescue” on Sunday morning.

The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance while the remaining climbers were uninjured.

Police and ambulance teams and crews from Queensland Fire and Emergency Services and the Tamborine Mountain Rural Fire Service joined the effort.

The incident happened on Dreamworld Parkway. The woman’s condition was unknown on Sunday morning.

Police declined to provide details of the incident.

Later on Saturday night, a man with a neck injury and a woman with chest pain were taken to Gold Coast University Hospital after a two-vehicle crash on the corner of Tallebudgera Connection Road and Tallebudgera Creek Road at 10.51pm.
