An elderly driver has allegedly blown more than three times over the legal blood alcohol limit after ploughing into several parked cars on the southern Gold Coast.

A Queensland Police Service (QPS) spokeswoman said the 71-year-old woman was allegedly behind the wheel of a silver Ford Cougar on Miller Drive, Tugun when it veered from the roadway and crashed about 5.45pm on Sunday.

The Ford struck a parked Mitsubishi tipper truck and a van before coming to rest.

The QPS spokeswoman said officers attended the crash and breath tested the driver, who allegedly returned a reading of 0.166.

The driver sustained minor injuries from the crash and was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

Police are awaiting the final results of blood tests taken overnight before any charges could be dealt with.
