Emergency services are responding to reports of a car that has struck a crane on the Pacific Motorway near Burleigh Heads.
A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said the vehicle reportedly crashed into the rear of the crane in the northbound lanes just after Southport Burleigh Road (exit 87).
The incident occurred shortly before 5.30am on Monday.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said four crews were on scene assessing one male patient aged in his 30s.
He had abrasions and reported chest pain, and was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
There were minor traffic delays building at the Reedy Creek Road on-ramp with no congestion reported on the M1.
