As the countdown to the highly-anticipated fourth annual NT News Future Northern Territory economic forum continues, the full line-up of speakers for the event can be revealed.
Content themes for the 2025 Future NT campaign include defence, resources, education, tourism, sport and workforce growth – with three major panel discussions centred around these themes to be held at the forum on Friday, July 18.
The event will be hosted by former editor of The Australian, John Lehmann, who is News Corp Australia’s Commercial Director, States and Communities.
Chief Minister of the Northern Territory Lia Finocchiaro will give a keynote address on the day, along with social researcher and demographer Mark McCrindle.
The first panel discussion of the day, which will be moderated by Sky News northern Australia correspondent and Darwin bureau chief Matt Cunningham, will focus on the resources sector and includes Tivan Limited executive chairman Grant Wilson, Tamboran chief financial officer Eric Dyer, NT Department of Mining and Energy CEO Alister Trier, and a Santos representative.
NT News editor Melanie Plane will then host a panel discussion on the Defence sector, featuring Sitzler defence sector lead Jason Miezio, Darwin Port CEO Peter Dummett, Charles Darwin University Deputy Vice Chancellor Research and Community Connection Dr Steve Rogers and a representative from the Australian Defence Force.
The final panel discussion of the day will focus on the sport and tourism sectors featuring Cricket Australia head of broadcast and international growth Richard Ostroff, AFL NT chairman Sean Bowden and Mr McCrindle, with Ms Plane as moderator.
Future NT 2025 is supported by major partners Tivan Limited, Charles Darwin University, Tamboran Resources, Santos, Darwin Port and NT Government, minor partners Airport Development Group and Sitzler and supporting partner Mindil Beach Casino Resort.
Tickets are on sale now for the Future NT 2025 economic forum, which will be held at Mindil Beach Casino Resort from 11.30am on Friday, July 18.
