A woman in her 20s has been airlifted to hospital after her leg was injured by a boat propeller on Saturday morning.
Just before midday, an EPIRB was activated near the coast of Moreton Bay, initiating a multi-agency search and rescue, involving LifeFlight, Australian Maritime Safety Authority and the Coast Guard.
It is believed the woman was spearfishing when she and a boat collided, with the propeller tearing into her leg.
Passengers on the boat acted quickly to provide first aid on the vessel before she was transferred to a larger boat and met by the Coast Guard.
Following her return to land, she was treated by critical care paramedics and a LifeFlight helicopter airlifted her to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition.
