Police are seeking witnesses after a ute crossed lanes on a major highway into oncoming traffic, hitting a truck head-on and resulting in the death a woman south of Brisbane.
It is understood the 34-year-old Mount French Man and 36-year-old Boonah woman were travelling in a ute east along the Cunningham Highway when it crossed onto the wrong side of the road and struck a truck that was travelling the opposite direction.
Emergency services were called to the Boonah-Fassifern Rd and Cunningham Hwy in Fassifern just after 7pm on August 28.
The woman was flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, but was declared dead on arrival.
The driver of the ute sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and is continuing to assist police with their inquiries.
The truck driver, a 67-year-old Tenterfield man, was not physically injured.
Police are appealing to witnesses, particularly anyone who was interviewed by officers at the scene, to come forward.
Anyone who saw the utility, a white two-door 2003 Mazda B2600, prior to the crash, is also urged to contact police.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
