A 23-year-old pedestrian remains in a critical condition in hospital after she was struck by a ute at Capalaba earlier this week.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash that occurred on Redland Bay Road about 12:30am on Thursday (January 25).

The 23-year-old South Brisbane woman sustained serious head injuries and was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.

The driver, a 37-year-old Thornlands man, was not physically injured.

A Queensland Police spokesman confirmed the woman remained in a critical condition on Saturday morning.

Forensic Crash Unit officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, also involving a silver 2016 Mitsubishi Triton, to come forward.

Nearby residents are urged to review their CCTV, and motorists with dashcam vision who may have been in the area at the time of the incident are also urged to contact police.

Investigations are continuing.
