A baby and a woman in her 20s have been taken to hospital after a two-vehicle crash that closed one lane of the Bruce Highway in Mackay.

Emergency crews were called to the scene about 4.45pm Wednesday following a crash at Glenella.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said paramedics assessed three patients including the woman and infant, and a man in his 50s for minor injuries.

The woman and child were taken to Mackay Base Hospital in a stable condition and the man declined transport.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said as a result the northbound lane of the Bruce Highway was blocked, and officers were on scene to help with traffic control.
