A Western Downs man has died after a crash with a truck in the Lockyer Valley.
Police were called to the westbound lanes of the Warrego Highway at Plainland about 6.31am to reports of a motorcycle and truck crash.
Initial investigations indicate both the rider and truck were travelling west at the time of the collision.
The rider of the bike, a 43-year-old St Ruth man, was declared dead at the scene.
The Forensic Crash Unit started its investigations at the scene, and traffic diversions were in place.
There were heavy traffic delays with westbound traffic backed up to Hatton Vale.
Anyone with information or dashcam is urged to contact police.
The rider is the second to be killed on Queensland roads this week.
A motorcycle rider died after single vehicle crash at Banana, north west of Bundaberg on Wednesday night.
The rider and sole occupant, a 37-year-old Theodore man, died at the scene.
It followed the death of a 70-year-old man in a crash at Apple Tree Creek, between Maryborough and Bundaberg on Wednesday.
