Two people fighting for life after head-on collision at Eagleby, Logan

Police are investigating after two people suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash at Eagleby, south of Brisbane, overnight.

An elderly Logan couple remain in hospital after suffering life-threatening injuries in a car crash after leaving their grandson’s 21st birthday on Saturday night.

The two-vehicle crash happened on River Hills Rd, Eagleby, about 11.45pm.

It was believed a Kia had veered on to the wrong side of the road.

A man and a woman – both in their 70s – sustained life-threatening injuries and were rushed to Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital.

The 79-year-old grandfather, who received leg and head injuries, has undergone surgery, while the 78-year-old grandmother remained in the intensive care unit.

A man and a woman in another vehicle received minor injuries and were taken to Logan Hospital.

The driver of the Kia was being interviewed by police.

Investigations into the cause of the crash were ongoing.
