Teenager dies after 15m fall into Coomera River

An 18-year-old man has died after falling 15m from a rockwall into a Gold Coast river on Sunday afternoon.

An 18-year-old man has died after falling 15m from a rockwall into a Gold Coast river.

Paramedics and fire crews responded to the incident at the Coomera River near River Breeze Crescent in Maudsland around 6.40pm.

It was understood that the teen was using a rope swing from a rock embankment before he fell from a height of 15m.

Queensland Fire Department had five crews on scene, with paramedics accessing the man.

He died at the scene.

Water rescue technicians and specialists were involved, with an inflatable water platform deployed.

Police say the incident is not suspicious and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
