Rescue chopper rushes to scene of horror highway crash

A teenager has been airlifted to a Brisbane Hospital with a serious leg injury following a horror crash north of Caboolture that injured three.

A teenager is among multiple people injured in a serious highway crash north of Caboolture.

Emergency services were called to the D’Aguilar Highway about 11.30am to reports of a two car crash near Bracalba, northwest of Caboolture.

Paramedics treated three patients at the scene, including a female in her early teens with a significant leg injury.

A rescue helicopter was called to fly the girl to hospital.

Paramedics also treated a second patient with abdominal, chest and arm injuries, and a third patient with various injuries.

The teen was taken to the Queensland Children’s Hospital in serious condition.

Another person was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious condition.

While the third was taken to Caboolture Hospital in a stable condition.

According to QLD Traffic, the southbound lane of the highway is closed just before Raaen Road and in the vicinity of Bracalba Quarry.

Westbound lanes are also reduced toward Woodford. Significant delays are expected.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
