A 63-year-old man has died after he was hit by a car on the Gold Coast on Thursday night.

Emergency services were called about 7.10pm to Nerang-Broadbeach Rd, west of Surfers Paradise, after reports of a crash involving a pedestrian.

Police say the man, from Carrara, was trying to cross the road when he was hit by a Holden Commodore, which resulted in him being thrown across the road into the path of a Ford Falcon.

The drivers of the vehicles, a 51-year-old Currumbin Waters woman and a 57-year-old Carrara man, were not injured.

Both remained at the scene and are helping police with their inquiries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating and anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who has vision, is urged to contact police.
