A 23-year-old man has been rushed to hospital after a “group disturbance” in Brisbane’s city allegedly left him with multiple stab wounds overnight.
Emergency services arrived at Esther Street in Fortitude Valley after reports a man had been wounded around 4.11am on Sunday.
The man was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Woman’s Hospital with minor stab wounds to the head and back and remains in a stable but serious condition.
A Queensland Police Services spokeswoman said it was unclear whether the man and the members of the group were known to each other at this stage.
No arrests have been made yet and police are urging anyone with information or vision to come forward.
Investigations are ongoing and a crime scene has been declared.
A Fortitude Valley resident who was walking his dog on Sunday morning said he saw police and ambulance at the scene earlier.
“Yeah it was super busy like cars everywhere. But I didn’t know what had happened, I didn’t hear anything happen before that,” he said.
Woolloongabba resident Dakota Martinez had been walking past Esther Street around 4.30am when she saw “at least 10” police cars and ambulance vehicles blocking the lane.
“I saw a bunch of flashing lights and heaps of police but I didn’t see the person that (allegedly) got stabbed,” she said.
