Man left with serious head injuries after motorbike crash on D’Aguilar Highway

A man in his 20s has been left with serious head injuries after a motorbike crash on the D’Aguilar Highway northwest of Brisbane.

A man has sustained serious head injuries after he fell from a motorbike northwest of Brisbane Sunday afternoon.

Paramedics were dispatched to the D’Aguilar Highway at Woolmar, just west of Kilcoy, about 12.10pm following reports of a serious motorbike crash.

The Rescue 500 chopper was also deployed.

An ambulance spokeswoman said the man, believed to be aged in his 20s, had suffered serious head injuries during the crash. He was flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

She said there were no reports of other injuries, but urged motorists to avoid the D’Aguilar Highway in the area while crews worked to treat the man.

Elsewhere, two people were trapped in their car following a two-vehicle incident at Clontarf, in the Moreton Bay region.

It is understood the impact of the crash, at the intersection of Cornelius and Laura streets at 12.41pm, caused one car to roll.

One patient was taken to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and one patient was taken to Redcliffe Hospital, both in stable conditions.

The two crashes come after a rider was seriously injured at a motocross park in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, in the second serious crash at the park in less than 24 hours.
