Man killed in late-night Maroochydore Rd crash on Sunshine Coast
A 21-year-old man has died after his Volkswagen sedan collided with a tree on the Sunshine Coast, while a man has been taken to hospital after falling from an e-bike. DETAILS
A 21-year-old man has died after his sedan collided with a tree on the Sunshine Coast just before 11pm on Thursday.
Police said that around 10.50pm, the grey Volkswagen sedan was travelling along Maroochydore Road, approximately 200m west of Broadmeadows intersection, when the tragedy unfolded.
Queensland Ambulance Service said paramedics assessed the man with life-threatening injuries.
Sadly, the driver of the sedan, a Nepalese man, was declared deceased at the scene.
Police are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to contact them.
Investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit are ongoing.

Meanwhile, in Woombye, paramedics took a man in his 20s with leg injuries to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition following a fall from an e-bicycle outside a private address at 11.07pm.
