A man in his 70s has been flown to hospital in a serious condition following a motorbike smash in the Scenic Rim.
The incident occurred on Sunday just before midday.
It is understood the man crashed after running off the road on the corner of Christmas Creek and Rohan Roads in Lamington, southeast of Toowoomba, according to the Queensland Ambulance Service.
Toowoomba’s RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was called to assist about 12.30pm and the pilot landed the chopper near the scene of the crash on a road which had been closed by the Queensland Police Service.
The LifeFlight aeromedical crew worked alongside paramedics from the Queensland Ambulance Service to treat the patient.
A QAS spokeswoman said the man was experiencing left-sided breathing pains and had sustained injuries to his left hand, chest and neck.
The man was flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
