Morning commuters are battling long delays on the Gateway and Pacific motorways and in the Clem7 Tunnel after two separate crashes on Wednesday morning.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency spokesman said at 5.45am two vehicles collided on the Mt Gravatt Capalaba Rd on-ramp at MacKenzie, just as the morning peak began filing onto the Gateway Motorway.
Paramedics attended the two-vehicle crash and two people, who were both listed as stable, were taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital. An ambulance spokesperson said one of the patients had lacerations.
The crash was cleared by 7.30am but lengthy delays remained with speed limits reduced to 60km/h on the Gateway and motorists told to expect to add an additional 20 minutes to their commute.
Delays also continued on the M1 and on the Mt Gravatt Capalaba Rd near the Mt Cotton junction.
Translink says bus delays of up to 20 minutes was likely for those travelling to Brisbane City along Mount Cotton Road in Mackenzie as a result of traffic congestion.
The Clem Jones tunnel is also slow-moving northbound this morning, after an accident in the left hand lane near the Shafston Ave on ramp.
The Clem 7 control room is advising motorists that the left hand lane is closed between the entrance and the Shafston Ave on ramp. Speed limits in the tunnel have been reduced.
