Freestone crash: Man dies at scene of truck crash near Warwick

A Brisbane man in his 70s has died at the scene of a crash in which the truck he was driving hit a pole at an intersection near Warwick.

The 77-year-old Wavell Heights man died at the scene.

A Brisbane man has died after the truck he was driving struck a pole at an intersection near Warwick overnight.

Police say the incident occurred about 6pm at the intersection of Freestone and Shelley roads in Freestone.

The 77-year-old Wavell Heights man, who was the only occupant of the truck, sustained critical injuries and died at the scene.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam vision or CCTV from the nearby area to come forward.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
