Two elderly people were rushed to hospital after they were freed from their car after it crashed into a power pole north of Brisbane.
Emergency services were called to the Bruce Highway Eastern Service Road in Burpengary at approximately 11:20am after reports of a collision.
The Queensland Ambulance Service sent six crews, including a critical care unit to the scene.
Both people inside the vehicle, a man in his 70s and a woman in her 60s were trapped when paramedics arrived.
The Queensland Fire Department sent three crews and used equipment to set them free.
After being freed from the car, both patients were assessed for serioues injuries and rushed to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s hospital.
The woman remains in a critical condition after suffering significant pelvis, abdominal and chest injuries. The man is in a stable condition with head injuries.
