E-scooter rider in critical condition after car collision

An e-scooter rider is in a critical condition after colliding with a car at a busy intersection and a teenage boy has suffered serious injuries following two separate crashes in Brisbane on Saturday.

A man has suffered critical head and leg injuries after his e-scooter collided with a car in Brisbane on Saturday.

Emergency crews raced to the intersection of Old Cleveland and Finucane roads, Capalaba, after a car and e-scooter crashed about 3.30pm.

Police say the collision occurred when the black 2014 Volkswagen sirocco hatchback driving south on Moreton Bay Rd crashed with the e-scooter heading west on Finucane Rd.

Bystanders rushed to help the e-scooter rider, a 24 year-old Alexandra Hills man, who had suffered severe head and leg injuries.

Paramedics, including critical care and the high acuity response unit treated the rider on scene before taking him to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

The driver of the car, a Capalaba woman, 22, was uninjured.

Meanwhile, a teenage boy has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a two vehicle crash in Camira on Saturday night.

Paramedics, including the high acuity response unit responded to the crash on Moss Road at 6.34pm.

The boy, 19, was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition.

The driver of the other vehicle was uninjured.

Investigations into both crashes are ongoing.
