Caboolture, Sunshine Coast train lines affected by heavy delays

South East Queensland train commuters faced heavy delays after a police incident suspended services between Oxley and Darra on Friday.

Brisbane commuters facws mammoth delays of up to one hour on some train lines following a police incident on Friday evening.

The Ipswich and Springfield line trains were suspended between Oxley and Darra due to the incident about 6.30pm.

Delays had cleared by Saturday morning.

A TransLink spokesman said rail buses were provided to customers to compensate for the delays created.

The incident and subsequent suspension of services sent shockwaves through Brisbane’s public transport network, with the Caboolture, Redcliffe Peninsula and Sunshine Coast line trains also delayed up to 30 minutes due to the incident.
