UPDATE: The lockdown at a Cairns high school has been lifted following police attendance at a school this morning.
A police spokesman said the Trinity Bay State High School had returned to normal operation after the disturbance that turned out to be a “fight”.
“It just looked like it was a schoolyard fight,” he said.
“It doesn’t look like a complaint has been forthcoming, there was no complaint made in the end.”
The police spokesman said no arrests would be made.
EARLIER: A Cairns school has been put into lockdown after reports of a student allegedly making threats while armed with a brick.
The lockdown at Trinity Bay State High School, on Hoare St at Manunda, began at about 10.30am with police attending the scene shortly after.

A Queensland Police spokesman said officers were called to the school to assist with a student “having a bit of a crisis”.
“We are on scene and talking to someone now,” he said.
