An 11-year-old on an alleged criminal rampage across Cairns is accused of ramming cars in a stolen vehicle, a fuel drive off, break and enters, and fleeing from police on a stolen e-scooter.

After a nine-day spree the boy was finally arrested by officers from the Cairns Property Crime Unit at an address in Mooroobool.

Police allege the boy was involved in multiple offences across several suburbs between March 2 and March 11.

The 11-year-old allegedly stole a car from a Woree address during which a second vehicle was rammed, before fleeing the scene on an electric scooter stolen during the same incident, police allege.

The boy also allegedly stole a vehicle from a Mount Sheridan address and stole fuel from an Edmonton service station a few hours later.

After being apprehended on Monday the boy was charged with four counts of enter dwelling, two counts of unlawful use of motor vehicle, three counts of stealing, and one count each of wilful damage and attempted unlawful use of motor vehicle.

He was refused bail and will be held behind bars before appearing before Cairns Childrens Court at a later date.

So far this month 22 vehicles have been stolen within the greater Cairns area between Gordonvale and Palm Cove to make a running total this year of 114 cars.
