A man wanted in connection to a “serious assault” that put a woman in hospital is still at large as of Monday morning after police initially focused search efforts at Yorkeys Knob.

Police have expanded their search area to find a man wanted in connection to a “serious assault” that put a woman in hospital.
Police crews responded to the incident about 2pm on Sunday and focused their search efforts at Yorkeys Knob.
Police patrols with dog crew assistance appeared to be searching bushland near the Yorkeys Knob Boating Club.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the man was wanted in connection to reports of a serious assault.
As of 6.30am on Monday, the man remained at large.
“He hasn’t been located yet … investigations are continuing,” a police spokesman said.
A woman was transported to Cairns Hospital on Sunday afternoon.
She remained in a stable condition on Monday morning, a Cairns Hospital spokeswoman said.
