Emergency services have rushed to the aid of two people believed to have been caught in water under a bridge in Cairns.

Authorities were called to treat four females - two teens and two women in their 40s - at The Rocks Rd, near the Cairns Crystal Cascades Holiday Park in Redlynch at 4.20pm.

It’s understood a 16-year-old female and a 48-year-old female were caught under a bridge at Freshwater Creek.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics had helped the duo from under the bridge and all four people were in a stable condition without any major injuries.

Crews then transported three stable patients to Cairns Hospital.

It comes just weeks after a Japanese tourist drowned in a restricted Crystal Cascades swimming area upstream.
