Northern beaches road closed after car stuck in flood waters

A driver has been rescued after their vehicle became trapped in floodwaters in Clifton Beach.

A 60-year-old driver has been rescued after their car became stuck in floodwaters on Yule Avenue in Clifton Beach at 6.45am.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services were called to a single-vehicle stuck in floodwaters.
According to a QFES spokeswoman, by the time crews arrived, the driver had managed to get out of the vehicle.

“Crews were on foot making their way through the water by the person was out of the vehicle by that time.

“The vehicle was removed by a tow truck,” the spokeswoman said.

Yule Avenue has since been closed to prevent more vehicles from entering floodwater.
