The identity of a man charged with murder following the stabbing death of a man at a south Cairns suburban home has been revealed, as he made his first appearance in court.

A man charged with murder following the stabbing death of a man at a south Cairns suburban home in the early hours of Wednesday morning has appeared in court via videolink from the watch house.
Steven Edward Anderson, 65, was not required to enter a plea and the matter was adjourned to July 21.
Police were called to a White Rock address about 1.30am on May 10 after a man was allegedly stabbed in the back multiple times.
Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Police have alleged there were arguments and altercations at the Hollywood Boulevard property before the alleged offence.
Police continue to appeal for witnesses or anyone with information which could assist investigations to come forward.
