A man accused of stalking a mother and her two daughters, one of whom he allegedly watched showering, has had his bail revoked after he visited their suburb days after he was charged.

Phillemon William Warradoo, 32, was back in Cairns Magistrate Court charged with breaching bail by going to the suburb where his alleged stalking victims live.

A man accused of stalking a mother and her two daughters has had his bail revoked after he visited their suburb days after he was charged with the offences.

Phillemon William Warradoo, 32, is facing eight charges: one of unlawful stalking, intimidation, harassing or abuse between December 17 and 24, 2024, two of trespass, four of breaching a restraining order and one of wilful damage.

He appeared in Cairns Magistrates Court on Friday charged with breaching his bail.

Police prosecutor Mary Molloy told the court it was alleged Warradoo had been watching a solo mum and her two daughters in their Palm Cove home, looking through their windows and watching the daughter shower.

She said the family did not know him.

Warradoo first appeared before the court on the stalking charge on December 26, and was given bail with eight conditions, one of which was that he could not go to the suburb of Palm Cove, where they lived.

A week later he went to Palm Cove, Ms Molloy said.

Defence Solicitor James Ellis-Smith said Warradoo advised he misunderstood his bail condition, believing it related to the family’s home and not the entire suburb.

He said he went to the beach at Palm Cove to socialise with friends and did not go near the house.

Acting Magistrate Jon Ide said he did not accept Warradoo’s explanation of “misunderstanding” but took into account his early plea of guilty in sentencing him to one month jail, wholly suspended for six months on the breach of bail.

Ms Molloy asked A/Magistrate Ide to revoke Warradoo’s bail.

“(The family) is in such fear, and the patrolling police have taken a real effort to watch the bus stops, follow the defendant if he is noticed in the area and put up cameras,” Ms Molloy said.

A/Magistrate Ide said he had “no confidence whatsoever” that Warradoo would abide by bail conditions, revoked his bail, and remanded him in custody for further mention of the eight stalking and related charges on February 6 in Cairns Magistrates Court.
