Road reopens after five car crash on major Far North road
The Kennedy Highway 10kms east of Mareeba has reopened to two-way traffic after a five vehicle crash earlier this morning.

UPDATE: The Kennedy Highway 10kms east of Mareeba has reopened to two-way traffic after a five vehicle crash earlier this morning.
Traffic control is in place at the corner of the Kennedy Highway and Kay Rd.
Most wrecks have been cleared from the scene and emergency services are no longer on site.
Traffic at a reduced speed is flowing freely through the crash zone.
EARLIER: Emergency services have been called to a five car pileup on a major Tablelands highway.
At 7.13 paramedics first attended the five-vehicle crash reported on the Kennedy Highway near Kay Rd.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said there was nothing to indicate the cause of the crash reported to have occurred out the front of the Termite Fruit and Veg Take Away roadside stall.
“We are on scene and are assessing the occupants but only two are presenting with injuries,” he said.
“One is a child and the other is an adult.
“But we don’t have details of age or gender at this moment.”
One lane of the Kennedy Highway has been blocked by the crash – motorists have been advised to proceed with caution.
Queensland Traffic has advised the northbound lane towards Kuranda Range remains blocked.
