A widely acclaimed cafe in Brisbane’s inner south has suddenly closed its doors without a word, leaving their dedicated customer base reeling.

Lady Marmalade Cafe, originally opened in 2010, has undergone several changes of hands over the years but current owners Anup and Malina Sharma had created a good reputation for their boundary-pushing menu.

The business - located in Stones Corner - last posted on social media just two weeks ago and gave no indication that a closure was imminent.

“Hope you had a great Christmas and missing your caffeine fix,” the post read.

“We are back with a full swing from tomorrow. Come over and have a great time. Open from 07.00am - 2.00pm everyday.”

But a Google search on Friday marks the cafe as “temporarily closed”, while its website was down and the phone and email contacts were disconnected.

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission told The Courier-Mail they did not yet have any record of changes to the business.

The owners have been contacted for comment.
