Four people have been hospitalised in a horror high-speed crash, causing lengthy traffic delays and damage to power poles in Sydney’s southeast.

The Toyota SUV slammed into the power pole in Hurstville about 3am on Monday, with the four occupants all rushed to hospital.

Pictures captured the remains of the mangled SUV, with debris littering several surrounding properties and King Georges Rd.

A 19-year-old female passenger and the 18-year-old male driver were freed from the wreckage by Fire and Rescue NSW crews before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for treatment.

Two other passengers, a 20-year-old male and 16-year-old female, were taken to St George Hospital with minor injuries.

King Georges Rd has partially re-opened since the crash, but traffic is still expected to be delayed in the area.

Some lanes still closed as crews continue to work on the damaged power pole.

Bus routes are also back up and running, though delays are expected.
Crews on the scene also had to isolate power from the fallen lines that were still active.

It’s been reported that the car was travelling at excessive speeds before it lost control and rolled several times before coming to a stop.

The black SUV was completely wrecked, with the back right passenger door caved in across the roof from the impact.

Emergency services urged motorists to avoid the area while it will remain closed for some time.
