Dad’s got a new gig. With the news this week that Oasis are reforming for a tour, some of Noel and Liam Gallagher’s seven children will finally get to see their dads perform together, for the first time.

The band – who were the biggest thing in Britpop in the nineties and noughties – famously split up in 2009 in Paris and spent the following 15 years sledging each other.

However, on Tuesday, they announced they are reforming for a tour in 2025, playing the UK and Ireland.

The Gallagher brothers are the ultimate rock and roll dads. Noel, 57, is parent to three children – Anais, 24, with ex-wife Meg Matthews, and Donovan, 16, and Sonny, 13, with ex Sara MacDonald. Model Anais is throwing herself into the reunion, posting photos of her dad and uncle to Instagram. At least she’s guaranteed a ticket.

Liam, 51, has four children: singer and model Lennon, 24, to ex-wife Patsy Kensit; singer Gene, 23, who he shares with ex-Nicole Appleton and who has supported his dad on tour; model Molly, 26, who he had with Lisa Moorish and has little relationship with; plus Gemma, 11, who he had with journalist Liza Ghorbani in New York and has reportedly never met.

While most children are embarrassed by their parents, we reckon Noel and Liam’s kids will have to roll with it. So, to celebrate Father’s Day, here’s our pick of four fathers who are also rocking on …

Chris Martin

He’s on his way to Australia, as part of Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour, and Chris Martin’s two kids, Apple and Moses, who he shares with ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow, can’t be in any doubt about their dad’s popularity.

Coldplay have just taken the title of biggest rock tour of all time, selling 8.8 million tickets since launching in 2022 and grossing $US945m to overtake Elton John, who held the tour throne for a year.

Model and singer Apple, 20, is at university, but is already working with her dad Chris, 47. She co-wrote Let Somebody Go on album Music Of The Spheres. Look-a-like Moses, 18, is also heading to uni and regularly goes to his dad’s concerts – he was seeing rocking in the VIP section at Glastonbury this year, with his sister and Chris’s fiancee Dakota Johnson.

You don’t get a bigger rock and roll dad, granddad – or, indeed, great-grandad – than Mick Jagger, 81. The legendary front man of The Rolling Stones is father to eight kids – Karis, 53, Jade, 52, Elizabeth, 40, James, 39, Georgia May 32, Gabriel, 26, Lucas, 25 and Deveraux, 7.

He has also racked up five grandchildren – with another on the way from Georgia May – and three great-grandchildren, and yet still shows no sign of putting down the microphone anytime soon.

“The more children you have, the more laissez-faire you get about them, to be honest,” he told The Guardian. Still, at least he’s always guaranteed a crowd when he performs.

Ice-T

Law & Order’s Ice-T, 66, is heading on tour with his band Body Count and a special roadie – his youngest daughter, Chanel, 8.

“She learned how to walk on the tour bus,” he told People magazine. “It’s those small aisles, and she would touch the sides, and we would send her down the aisle.”

Dad of LeTesha Marrow, 48, and Tracy Marrow Jr, 32, he’s been taking Chanel on tour with him since she was born.

“She’s been coming on stage ever since she was little,” he said, of his daughter with wife Coco Austin.

Meanwhile, son Tracy is part of the band. “My other son is out there with us. So, yeah, it’s a family thing,” he told the magazine.

One of our favourite dad-daughter relationships is that of Lenny Kravitz and daughter Zoe.

Rocker Lenny, 60, is touring his Blue Electric Light Tour and earlier this year went viral for a video of him getting in shape, working out in the gym, sporting leather pants and nothing else. It received 16.7 million views on Instagram.

Big Little Lies actor, daughter Zoe, 35, thought it so amusing, she put the video in as a cameo in her directorial debut movie Blink Twice.

“I just thought it would be funny,” she said. Zoe, who is daughter to Lenny and ex-wife Lisa Bonet, says of her father, “He does his thing man, he’s pulling it off.”
