There are only two sleeps until Santa comes to town but almost half of Australians are yet to finish their Christmas shopping.
A Compare the Market survey has revealed 44 per cent of people are yet to finish their festive season shopping, with the average person forking out $375 on gifts.
Scentre Group Queensland regional manager Richard Heinz said shops were getting busier every day.
“We’re seeing high visitation across all of our Westfield Living Centres as we enter the final sprint before Christmas,” Mr Heinz said.
Savvy Christmas shopper Lucy Kalaja said she was in and out of Indooroopilly Shopping Centre within two hours this week.
“I just looked online first and sorted out a couple of options for what I wanted to buy and then when I saw it in real life I just chose,” she said.
Ms Kalaja knows just how busy the holiday periods get due to her working in popular retail fashion store Scanlan Theodore.
She said she was glad to be done with Christmas shopping because the centre was “crazy busy”.
Extended trading continues today, with Westfield Chermside open all night and other major South East Queensland shopping centres trading till midnight.
