Laundry day can be daunting for many, especially in winter.

Do you a) run multiple loads of the dryer, racking up expensive energy bills, b) hang your clothes outside and cross your fingers it doesn't rain or c) hang your clothes on a drying rack, only to realise there's NEVER enough room on there.

If you're in camp c) you're probably familiar with a living room that looks more like a pop-up clothing shop, with T-shirts hanging off chairs and pants splayed across the couch.

But now thanks to TikTok, we've been blessed with a revolutionary laundry hack for drying clothes inside. It promises to maximise space, meaning no random clothes on random bits of furniture! Yay!

"Double the space on your drying rack"

Home organiser and cleaning wizz Beatriz from @makelifesimpler_ shared the now-viral video, showing the easy "space-saving" way to hang more clothes on a drying rack.

"Double the space on your drying rack by hanging your clothes like this," she wrote over the clip.

She then shows six T-shirts hanging on the drying rack the familiar way, aka with each one pegged to a different horizontal pole.

She then removes them and shows her a different approach.

Beatriz then hangs 11 shirts on the line, by placing them vertically and pegging them to the top and bottom poles of the rack.

They're placed slightly closer together, but this method means she can fit five more T-shirts in.

"This would make the clothes smell funky"

Some said it was "genius" while others pointed out some problems with the trick.

"Just wonder why I didn't think of this," wrote one.

Another said: "You saved me."

Then this person remarked: "THIS IS GENIUS!" while someone else added another handy tip: "If you hang them on coat hangers, they don't need an iron!"

But someone else mentioned: "This would make the clothes smell funky though."

Then this woman said; "It will take so much longer to dry."

"Would get mouldy before it dries," replied someone else.

Someone simply wrote: "I don't get it."
