With their second wedding and the opening of their business, Caxton Street Brewing Company, Kerry Knight and Johnny Balbuziente from Married at First Sight (MAFS) have had an incredible start to the year.
After filming finished Johnny said they spent the first twelve months after the show readjusting to normal life.
“It was a scary thing coming outside the experiment, because you’re in such a controlled environment,” he said.
“That’s one aspect, the intensity of the experiment, you’re getting to know each other at the same time, and you’ve been fast tracked through that process, then coming out of the experiment, being in our real lives.
“That was actually the real challenge, figuring out how do we now mould into each other’s lives? Will we get along and will it work in the real world?”
After the filming for the show ended, Kerry and Johnny got married in an intimate wedding in January.
“It was beautiful, because it was everything that we wanted, there were no cameras, there was no publicity. It was intimate. Our wedding day was truly special. It was just for us,” Johnny said.
Kerry looks back fondly on her MAFS honeymoon experience, but it doesn’t compare to her honeymoon outside the experiment.
“After the wedding we were getting along so well and the conversation was just flowing to a point where the producer had to sit in between us and stop us from talking because they didn’t want to miss out,” she said.
“They wanted to capture it, our conversation and chemistry, and obviously on a plane, you can’t do that. So the difference, we got to sit next to each other on the flight over to our honeymoon.”
