Katy Perry has picked up a Queensland memento in the form of some luxe local swimwear.
Heading out for a day of shopping in Port Douglas last week, the US pop star visited Tahitian Lime Swimwear, owned by a local sister duo, and fell in love with the brand’s latest print, picking up two items for around $300.
The owners said Perry purchased their one-piece Baja Bodysuit, which retails for $199, as well as the matching Capri bikini top, which is $99.
The label was founded six years ago by sisters Prue and Brooke Needham, who grew up travelling to beach locations with their dad, former race car driver and Bathurst winner, Bert Needham.
The sisters were both in store when Perry arrived with her daughter Daisy Dove, whom she shares with actor Orlando Bloom, and his son Flynn.
“We couldn’t believe it,” Prue said.
“She was in here for about half an hour talking to us. My son was playing with her little girl.
“It was such a lovely thing. We are such a small town Port Douglas so for her to come in here was fantastic.”
Tahitian Lime Swim is ethically-sourced and made from recycled Italian fabrics.
Since its inception, the sisters have donated 10 per cent of the profits to charity and rescue group Act 4 Bali Dogs.
Perry is in Far North Queensland with Bloom while he films a role on new movie Wizards! alongside Pete Davidson.
Since arriving in Queensland, she has been spotted shopping around town as well as attending a local circus.
