‘Rough’: Biles’ brutal surgery recovery
America's most decorated gymnast Simone Biles has revealed the shocking reality of her surgery recovery, describing it as "rough" and "alien-like".
Olympic gold medallist Simone Biles has revealed how incredibly painful her recovery was after getting breast implants.
The 28-year-old gymnast took to social media to answer everyone’s questions about the procedure she underwent on June 16 in Houston, Texas.
She revealed that she wanted a natural look and so it was decided the procedure would be done under the muscle. She then detailed her recovery.
“Y’all lied. This s**t hurts so bad,” she told her followers.
“Everyone was like oh my god, after my surgery I was at the movies, at the mall — I went shopping. Hell no.
“Your girl could not move by herself. I had to take the whole two weeks and I am glad I did.”
She called her recovery “rough” but clarified that she didn’t have complications, adding on the first day her husband — NFL player Jonathan Owens — had to physically lift her up out of bed.
“I would say that — I don’t know, I’m just assuming — I am a little bit more muscular than most girls who get them done so going under the muscle and doing all that kind of work really hurt my body,” she said.
“And they were to my neck and I did freak out. I talked to my doctor and I was like, ‘Get them out. They need to be smaller’.
“They looked like aliens at first. But now they’re perfect.”
She said people asked her if she was afraid of breast implant illness — which is not a formal diagnosis but is used by people to describe symptoms such as joint pain, brain fog, chronic fatigue and rashes.
“So obviously with every plastic surgery there is going to be a risk — and I did it,” she said.
Biles told People last week that it was important to be transparent and that she had actually undergone three surgeries.
“Seeing me win medals at the Olympics, that’s not relatable,” she said.
“But what is relatable is how we feel about ourselves, what we talk about, what we go through and how we share openly, honestly.”
She said it was about feeling good in her body.
