‘Challenging time’: Bachelor star Alex Nation denies split from fiance

A former Bachelor star has broken her silence following a report this week that she and her fiance have called it quits after five years together.

A former reality TV star has denied she and the man she has been in a relationship with for five years they have called it quits.

Alex Nation, who rose to fame on Ritchie Strahan’s season of The Bachelor, and fiance Carson Jory have two children together. The 34-year-old ex-reality star also has a son from a previous relationship.

Nation and Jory’s relationship became public in December 2020 and the pair got engaged in September 2021 — a month after welcoming their first child together.

Media reports began circulating this week that the couple had “faced some challenges” in their relationship and had subsequently broken up.

However, Nation’s management denied to news.com.au that the couple had split.

“She, like many other couples together – are just navigating a challenging time and doing the best they can for their family,” a spokesperson from her management team said.

The representative explained that the engaged pair were experiencing the challenges of being in a long-term relationship while also parenting young children.

The couple’s focus is on doing what’s best for their family.

Nation has always been transparent about her relationships.

In August 2024, the former Bachelor contestant took to Instagram with some candid insight her relationship. She said she wanted to be open about her personal life after settling down, revealing it had been a “colossal challenge” and sometimes created feelings of resentment.

“There has been a significant lack of emotional connection and intimacy,” Nation said over a happy snap of the couple.

“We have trouble communicating with love and grace. Financial and work pressures get the better of us and we are quick to lash out at each other over financial stresses.”

Nation said the couple argue and they sometimes have fights in front of their children.

“We sometimes miss the life we had prior to each other and our children. The freedom and independence,” she admitted.

Nation also said their want for physical affection fluctuates, they clash over parenting styles and they have built resentment towards each other that hasn’t properly been dealt with yet.

“I’m almost certain we’ve both had the ‘Is the grass greener?’ thought. We really struggle with prioritising our relationship and default to things being ‘too hard’ with the kids,” she said.

“At times it feels like we are housemates and not partners/lovers. Sometimes we question if we would better off co-parenting instead.”

Nation’s raw and honest post resonated with hundreds of people, with the star later taking to her Instagram story to thank people for their kind words.
