A woman has been injured after being trampled by a camel on Christmas Eve.
The incident happened on Noosa Rd at Mothar Mountain about 10am Saturday.
A spokeswoman from the Queensland Ambulance Service said the woman, aged in her 50s, was walking in the rural area when the camel, believed to be a juvenile, ran up the road.
It appeared to be an escaped camel, she said, and it was unclear where the animal had come from.
It was unclear who owned it.
The woman suffered a wrist injury and was taken to Gympie Hospital in a stable condition.
It comes after camel chaos broke out in the Brisbane suburb of Aspley last week.
The animals, believed to have escaped from the Bethlehem walk at Bridgeman Baptist Church, were seen walking into oncoming traffic on Albany Creek Rd about 9am on December 16.
Stunned drivers slowed to avoid the animals, also taking the opportunity to take photos and videos if the bizarre incident.
Many took to Facebook to warn others of the traffic hazards, while also taking the opportunity to see the humour in the situation.
